Context for Learning
Our current ‘Context for Learning’ is Invaders and Settlers.
Our English study is based on 'Arthur and the Golden rope'. This also links well with our reading unit 'Odd and the Frost Giants' by Neil Gaiman.
Our History focus is on the Anglo-Saxons and Scots', learning about where and when they existed and how their culture was different from others studied. We will look into how they invaded , battled, where they came from, how they lived and ate as well as how they entertained themselves. How was England formed at the time and ruled? Was it a peaceful time?
For Geography, we will be studying the oceans and asking 'Why do oceans matter?'

Supporting at Home
Parents are the biggest influence on a child, so it is hugely important that we work together to support each other.
Supporting your child with their reading and homework has a huge impact and is hugely appreciated.
We encourage parents to take the time to talk to their child about what they have done in school and show an interest. Also to become involved in school life by checking the school website, following Twitter and reading the school newsletters.
Parents can also make a huge contribution to the school by supporting the PTA and attending events such as the Christmas fair.
Remember we are there to support each other so we encourage you to contact the school and speak to the class teacher if you are worried about anything.
